Abstract |
The study considers the influence of select demographic variables on determinants of retention of managers in two new Indian Private Sector Banks, located in National Capital Region of India- Delhi. The managers examined for the study were with minimum two years of experience in the same bank. Data from 301 lower and middle level managers were collected and the sample was finalized using stratified random sampling. Hypotheses were created predicting the relation between each select demographic variables and determinants found significantly related to retention. Foremost, multiple and hierarchical regression analysis were performed on models created to identify the significant determinants for retention. In main analysis, effect of demographic variables on those significant determinants was measured using t-test and ANOVA/Brown and Welch Tests. Results indicate that a number of determinants of retention show significant differences based on demographic differences. |

Abstract |
Microenterprises have been recognised as a considerable employment avenue and constitute a major means of livelihood among poor households. In the Mfantsiman Municipality, the problem of unemployment persists despite the option for microenterprise establishment which is expected to have been enhanced under decentralised governance. This may be partly because, prevailing socioeconomic conditions may not be yielding the necessary motivation to establish enterprises among local dwellers who have varied personal attributes. To institute development interventions that effectively promote microenterprise establishment as a viable employment option, it is considered essential to evaluate the interactive effects of socio-economic conditions with personal attributes of individuals on their enterprise establishment decisions. This is because the interactive effects are expected to add onto or reduce the direct effects of the socioeconomic factors in the decisions made. The study which is quantitative in design, adopts a conjoint analytical approach based on data from a cross sectional survey of 800 economically active individuals in 20 rural communities in the Mfantsiman Municipality in 2013. The interactive effects of personal attributes with socio-economic factors were found to be significant but with varied influence on microenterprise establishment decisions. The study recommends that microenterprise development policies and programmes should be well targeted by age, sex and educational attainment, focusing on creating access to institutional support services and markets for activities with high returns on investment. |

Abstract |
The insurance sector plays a significant role in a country's economy as well as trade and development. The insurance sector facilitates financial intermediation, enables business and individuals manage their risk and channelizes savings into capital formation for the economy. The present paper is an attempt to ascertain the relation between a set of financial indicators with the performance of life insurance business in India. The life insurance premium to GDP has been used as a measure for the performance of insurance industry. While parameters such as mutual fund mobilisation as a ratio to GDP, volatility of the stock market, yield premium measured as the difference between yield on long term bonds and short term bonds, and market capitalisation as a ratio to GDP have been employed as financial indicators in this study. The study covers the period between 1990-91 and 2016-17. The results reveal that insurance premium is positively related to market capitalization to GDP (financial depth), volatility in the stock market and is inversely related to other investment avenues like mutual funds and interest rate. |

Abstract |
The aim of this paper is to investigate the relationship between consumer perception and their attitude on green practices of star hotels in Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) and willingness to pay for it. This paper analyses data collected from 147 star hotel consumers across GHMC to gain insight into consumer perceptions and attitudes towards green practices and their willingness to pay. First, a factor analysis and an ordered logit regression analysis are applied to obtain the value of willingness to pay and determine the factors influencing it. The findings illustrate that there is an unfilled market niche for 'Green' in star hotels, as consumer cares about star hotels that protecting the environment and would be willing to pay more to offset any additional costs associated with green practices. |

Abstract |
The aim of the paper is to analyze and evaluate Revenue Efficiency scores of Indian Scheduled Commercial Banks (SCBs) in India over a period of 22 years i.e., 1991-92 to 2012-13 by the application of Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) - a non-Parametric Approach. The paper also identifies the reason for the Revenue Inefficiency among Indian Banks. In addition, the Return to Scale at which the Scheduled Commercial Banks are operating has also been evaluated. The results of the paper depict that Indian Scheduled Commercial Banks have never achieved full Revenue Efficiency score of 1 in any of the years under study. The dominant reason identified behind Revenue Inefficiency is the Allocative Inefficiency. Surprisingly, the results also highlight that Scheduled Commercial Banks (SCBs) in India exhibit higher Revenue Efficiency Scores in Reformatory Phase as compared to the Post Reformatory Phase. |
